Lecture 27 Blog, ECE438 Fall 2011, Prof. Boutin

Wednesday October 27, 2011 (Week 10) - See Course Outline.

The first part of today's lecture was about the fact that the inverse N-point DFT of the product

$ X_N[k] H_N[k] $

is the same as

  • the periodic repetition of x[n]*h[n],
  • the N-point circular convolution of x[n] and h{n],

provided N> (duration of x) + (duration of h) -1.

In the second part of the lecture, we discussed some basic units of human speech.
