Lecture 26 Blog, ECE438 Fall 2011, Prof. Boutin
Monday October 24, 2011 (Week 10) - See Course Outline.
Having discussed how (by specify the zeros and poles of the transfer function) one can design a causal approximation of an ideal filter, we moved on to another way of designing filters in today's lecture. More specifically, we saw how one could shift and window the unit impulse response of an ideal filter in order to obtain a causal FIR filter. A MATLAB plot of the example presented in class can be viewed on this page.
