Lecture 28 Blog, ECE301 Spring 2011, Prof. Boutin
Wednesday March 30, 2011 (Week 11) - See Course Schedule.
Today we finished our discussion of DT processing of CT signals. The highlight of the lecture was the description of the relationship between the frequency response of the CT system we are trying to emulate and the frequency response of the DT system use to process the samples. Make sure to remember this relationship!
We then began Chapter 8 with a presentation of the concept of signal modulation with an illustration using a complex exponential carrier. Next lecture we will learn how to demodulate the signal.
Action items before the next lecture:
- Read Sections 8.1-8.3 in the book.
- Begin working on HW9.
- Try out these two practice questions on the Nyquist rate:
Previous: Lecture 27
Next: Lecture 29
