Lecture 27 Blog, ECE301 Spring 2011, Prof. Boutin

Monday March 28, 2011 (Week 11) - See Course Schedule.

Today we proposed a method for processing a band-limited CT signal using a DT system. The idea is to sample the signal below Nyquist, and then to process the samples using a DT system. One subsequently reconstructs the CT signal corresponsing to the processed samples using the band-limited reconstruction formula covered in the previous lecture.

As part of our analysis of this method, we uncovered the relationship between the FT of a CT signal, and the FT of a sampling of that signal. This is a very important relationship to remember. In the next lecture, we will describe the relationship between the frequency response of the CT system we are trying to emulate and the frequency response of the DT system use to process the samples.
