Today we continued our study of the unsharp mark by computing and plotting the frequency response (i.e. the discrete-space Fourier transform) of the corresponding filter. We then studied another type of filter introduced by Perona and Malik. We observed that this filter is not linear and that it allows one to smooth out an image without blurring the edges of that image.
