Rhea Section for Business Feasibility Analysis 499 Professor Sydnor, Fall 2012

Welcome to HTM 499 and our class Wiki!  This is a first year experiment and I must admit I'm really interested in the contirbutions I hope you'll make

here. Here's my motivation.....

  • I was admitted to a small gorup of professors (after a very competitive process) to be mentored by the university's most famed and celebrated teachers (yeah!).
  • I love teaching, especially entrepreneurship courses (this is a entrepreneurship-like coure).
  • Students have a love-hate relationship with HTM 499...meaning they either love it or hate it. Got it (so get ready to fall in one of these 2 camps)?
  • I want (I think the entire faculty wants) to know why the above exists...from both camps.  We have our own ideas of why but, in the spirit of true scientific discovery and bi-partisan politics :-)....the desire to have you tell us is more compelling than making up my own stuff.

So...have at it. Some of your comments may be in response to direct questions I'll pose in class and have you answer here and some comments will be free-will offerings!

Best,

Dr. Sydnor

P.S.  A word...set your intentions at the begining of the semester to get the most out of this class you can. It's your last Hoorah prior to entering the real world. What you learn here will serve you the rest of your life (no kidding).  Excercise your intellectual muscles. And be clear-we can have a lot of fun doing this (which is what you want to remember 20 years from now when you reminisce).

Best,

Dr. Sydnor
