Lecture 22 Blog, ECE438 Fall 2011, Prof. Boutin

Friday October 14, 2011 (Week 8) - See Course Outline.

The topic of today's lecture was "DT systems and filtering". After recalling some properties of DT systems, we analyzed a simple average filter. We did this by computing the frequency response and the transfer function of that filter. In particular, we noted how the location of the poles and the zeros of the transfer function influenced the amplitude of the frequency response.

Action Items

  • Keep working on HW5. It is due next Wednesday (in class). Note that a few little changes were made to Question3.
