2010 Essay Contest Winners

The Summer 2010 Rhea team is proud to announce the winners of the 2010 Rhea Essay Contest. The jury was composed of ECE graduate students Andrew Haddad and Shiv Biddanda. Each winner was awarded a $100 cash prize. We thank the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the EPICS program, and the Motorola Foundation for providing financial support for this contest. Below are the winners for each topic.

The winning essay on this topic, written by Melissa Lindsey, expresses the need for better health insurance options for students. Melissa is a PhD student in mathematics. You can read her essay here. The essay written by Jim Vaught came in close second.
