Time Shifting Property

The time shifting property states that if the periodic signal [tex]x(t)[\tex] is shifted by [tex]t_0[/tex] to created the shifted signal [tex]x(t-t_0[/tex], then the Fourier series coefficients of [tex]x(t)[/tex], [tex]a_k[/tex], will all be multiplied by [tex]e^{-jkw_0t_0}[/tex] resulting in the coefficients of the shifted function being [tex]a_k e^{-jkw_0t_0}[/tex].
