Well, you guys can use the definition of PDF.

  • so for part a: there are two integrals, one from -0.5 to 0, and the other one is from 0 to 0.5 and just use the pdf that is given in the question
    • for part b: just follow the same procedure and use the defintion of the conditional property
      • for part c: just follow the defintion of the expected value
