The Process of Amplitude Modulation

Here is a block diagram demonstrating the process of amplitude modulation:

Some Points Worth Noting About Amplitude Modulation

$ \bullet x(t) $ does not need to be band limited when modulated with a complex exponential in order for the demodulator to produce $ \ x(t) $.

$ \bullet $ If the signal is not band limited and modulated with a sinusoidal carrier the copies will always overlap. That is $ \ \omega_{c} - \omega_{m} < 0 $ beacuase $ \omega_{m} = \infty $
