Yating Haller, Assistant Director, Global Professional Practice Program
Short BIolgraphy
Haller has an MS Cross-Cultural Psychology and an Ed. D. degree in Higher Education Leadership and Policy at the Peabody College at Vanderbilt University in 2007. Haller’s research interest is a derivative from her professional experience in global engineering education, with an emphasis on global engineering competencies and the impact of internationalization on the engineering profession. At Purdue University, Haller’s main responsibilities include engagement of both students and faculty members to embrace global engineering mindsets and practice. As the Assistant Director of Global Professional practice, she builds and develops Co-op and internship programs by leveraging global engineering education. Her offices manages the Co-Op and internship programs for over 600 students per year. In 2010, Haller served the Program Director of International Research and Education in Engineering (IREE), a NSF funded internship abroad program that sent 58 U.S. engineering researchers to conduct research in China. Born in Taiwan, grew up in Singapore, Haller has traveled to over 30 different countries.
