Discussion: Should Rhea keep using "Go Daddy"?

Given the involvement of GoDaddy's CEO Bob Parson in a recent elephant killing incident, do you think that Rhea should stop using GoDaddy? If so, what other provider do you recommend as an alternative?

  • Though it is really unfortunate that the world should have to lose another one if its majestic creatures, let us keep in mind that morality is contextual. I do not know enough about the situation to make a judgement on it. Now, that said, if anyone has a good resource which is honest and can give me the full story, I would very much like to get a better perspective on the matter. I would like to suggest that before we make any big decisions about moving, that we all get to know the situation. We are all very lucky to exist in a world where ethics and morality are personal decisions and not handed down to us. This means that one of our responsibilities is to understand a situation before acting rashly. --Andrew Haddad

  • There is no reason to react to this event. This action, although the method was maybe not the best solution, has very little to do with the company, but merely a single person that happens to be the CEO. The killing of one elephant, for the sake of vital crop preservation is not a morally black issue. Gray maybe, but not to an extent that requires any rash actions such as removing our patronage. --ajfunche
