I think that taking good notes will be the best strategy for this class. The homework on section 3.2, specifically problem 2, was frustrating because the book does not concisely list the theorems needed to complete the problem. You have to dig in the chapter to find any of the needed theorems. Hopefully good notes will be a better reference than the book.
