As of Feb 2, 2010 we have covered section 2.4 to the large extent. So 2.4 is due next Tuesday. I recommend highly to solve at least 50% of the work that I will not collect. 50% is the minimum as for to not to fall behind. Also I highly recommend to read ahead. Just 30 min of reading ahead of class should help to prepare questions. I will be happy to answer them during the lecture.

'''Prof. Alekseenko:''' I guess it depends on how we define the terminology. To me there is a difference between "is due" and "will be collected". "Is due" means that for the sake of understanding the material, the homework must be done. "will be collected" -- means that I will check that students did the assignment. I think I announced that 2.4 "will be collected" on Thursday, Feb 11th. Wouldn't it be great to finish the homework by Tuesday and ask questions about it in class?

Tue, Feb 2, 2010: As of Feb 2, 2010 we have covered section 2.4 to the large extent.

Professor,

Didn't you announce that 2.4 is due Thursday Feb 11th?

Prof. Alekseenko: I guess it depends on how we define the terminology.

Thanks.
