Lecture 5 Blog, ECE301 Fall 2010, Prof. Boutin

Friday January 21, 2011 (Week 2) - See Course Schedule.

Today we covered the definition of the unit step and impulse step functions in DT and in CT. We covered their relationship "both ways" (, i.e. how to write the step function in terms of the unit impulse, and how to write the unit impulse in terms of the step fection). We pointed out how to use the unit impulse for sampling, and how to use the unit step function for restricting the duration of a signal. The latter will be useful for the the second homework assignment.
