Memory-less Systems
A memory-less system is a systems which has an output which is only dependent on the present state of time/interval. For a system to be be memory-less, the output cannot be dependent upon the past or present values of the input time/interval. For reference, please see the following.
Memory-less
y(t) = 22x(t) - This function is memory-less since when the output y(t) is called, the input is called for x(t). Therefore, both the input and output are referenced from the same "t" in the present, making it memory-less.
Non Memory-less
y(t) = 22x(t-6) - This function is non memory-less since when the output y(t) is called, the input is called for x(t-6). Therefore, when the output references t as the present state value, the input must reference t-6, a point in the past to yield the correct answer. This dependency on the past makes the function non memory-less.
