Answer to the question i think is because you have 16 men and women all togeather and order is not important you have 16 chocies for the first position, and then 15 chocies for the second, and so on. therefore the answer is 16! which is 16*15*14*13*12*11*10*9*8*7*6*5*4*3*2*1= 2.09^e13

But what if one of the stipulations was that two men stand next to each other. then what you would do is (16!/2!14!)= 120
