(b) A ⊂ (A ∪ B)
Proof
(a) let x ∈ (A ∩ B) ⇔ x ∈ A and x ∈ B ⇒ x ∈ A ⇒ (A ∩ B) ⊂ A.
(b) let x ∈ A. Then it is true that x is either in A or in B ⇔ x ∈ (A ∪ B) ⇒ A ⊂ (A ∪ B).
