Rhea liaisons

Liaisons provide links between Rhea and the "real world". Liaisons are displayed in boxes on the right hand side of rhea pages. By clicking on the picture in a liaison box, one gets to a web page containing the information pertaining to that particular liaison. There are different types of liaisons.

  • Alumni Liaisons are for Purdue alumni to share messages with Purdue students. For example, an alumnus who found a particular class helpful in his career could use a liaison to share this fact with the students currently taking that class. See an example here. If you are the instructor of a course presently using Rhea as a course wiki and would like to have some specific specific liaisons displayed next to your page, please contact the Rhea development team (kiwi.ecn.purdue dot you know what). Otherwise, we may simply choose the liaison at random from a subject appropriate list, or leave the field blank.
  • Technology Liaisons are for connecting relevant technology to the material discussed on Rhea.
  • Industry Liaisons are for connecting industry to certain groups of students using Rhea. For example, a company organizing a presentation on campus for engineering students could use a liaison box to advertise this event to a specific class.
  • Employment Liaisons are for companies seeking job applicants with a certain expertise. These liaisons allow them to post a targeted message containing an employment offer relevant to students taking a specific class on campus. We are particularly interested in job offers emphasizing the importance of certain academic subjects in the real world.
  • Research Liaisons are for connecting the curriculum material to current research. Faculty, graduate students, and research labs, as well as companies involve in R&D are welcome to participate!

People/industry interested in being displayed on the liaison boxes should contact kiwi@ecn.purdue dot you know what. Note that Rhea is an educational website and that liaisons cannot be used to display ads of a mere commercial nature.
