Professional Statement - Krishna Jhajaria
Since my freshmen year, I have had little pushes to help guide me through my career goals. Being associated with organizations such as the Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineering (IEEE), Phi Sigma Theta National Honor Society, and National Society Of Business Engineers, helped me greatly to decide early on in college what career path I wanted to choose.
During my academic life, I was fortunate to be chosen as an intern with Intel Corporation. While there, summer of 2010, I was given a project that dealt with ASIC Chips and microprocessors. My project was to develop algorithms and prototypes using the most advanced programming languages that would program these chips. In the summer of 2011, I once again managed to secure another internship in a start-up company at Indianapolis where I was hired as a lead software developer. I was responsible for creating mobile apps for the company’s website which would facilitate offline reading for students.
While in my junior year, I was part of a project in my VIP class which also dealt with mobile apps development. While working in a team strengthened my communication and leadership skills, at the same time dealing with JAVA and other tools greatly enhanced my programming talents. The project entitled "Academic Organizer" was a huge success featuring my team on the Purdue ECE website. During the same semester I worked on two other projects, one of which dealt which embedded system Design and the other one focused on ASIC design. Although it was a heavy semester for me it sublimely taught me the skill of multitasking and time management. The following semester was relatively lighter for me in terms of technical courses and hence I decided to focus on some extra-curricular activities, a significant part of college life which should not be missed. I took notice of my hobbies and landed up joining the Purdue Musical Organization which was an all-time enriching experience. It not only gave an outlet to my talent but also helped me in making new friends outside my department and courses. I also joined the Purdue Indian Dance club and was actively involved with ECE student ambassadors. A wave of Opportunities emerged for making new contacts as I met new people every day, an experience which I could never have had inside the walls of my classroom.
As an engineer, my analytical-skills and problem-solving skills seems to have been polished to the fullest which would be beneficial for any job position. Also my specialization in computers will give me stronger zeal when dealing with tasks concerned with computer programming and web technologies. During my academic journey at Purdue, I feel especially enriched in my design experience in which I had to brainstorm, implement, test, debug, document, and finally present making it an all-round process required by any professional firm. Now begins my professional journey and I am looking forward to contributing to the world by developing socially redeeming solutions for large scale users thereby fulfilling my long term career goals.
