I am having a little trouble with odd and even permutation. I understand that it is the disorder but can someone give me a couple of examples with disjointed cyclic functions.

Thanks

Zach

I thought that even and involved the number of two cycles a permutation could be broken in to. Also I don't understand the thm about breaking apart permutations into two cycles. If someone would explain that, I would appreciate it.
