We are introducing new initiatives as part of Rhea's "Liaison Program", which aims to connect Purdue students with the real world. You can learn a bit more about the Liaison Program here.

Just as a reminder, Project Rhea is a pilot project supported by the work of student volunteers along with donations, and all the services provided are free.

This is how the new initiatives on the Liaison Program will affect the same page:

The initiatives, marked in red in the image above, include:

  • Advertising: The company can advertise through the Rhea website using promotional videos or stating numbers and facts. The ad links either to the external company website, or to the internal company website in Rhea.
  • Long term skill guidance: The company can advertise through the "Rhea Courses" section, where it can let the students know that the skills acquired during a specific course are generally required to work for the company. The benefits for the company are clear: in the future, instead of having to choose from all the candidates the ones that have the required skills for a particular job, the company would receive resumes from candidates that have been trained to get the job. This is, the link between the company and the student is established from the first year of college.
  • Alumni Liaison: The idea is to let current employees encourage students to apply for a job or a specific course. The closer the employee is to the student (i.e., same university of origin, same major), the closer will be the link between the student and the company. For example, through the "Employment Liaison" the employee can write about advantages of working for the company, including: location, salary, work environment, and promotion opportunities. He/she can also write about personal experiences that students can feel identified with. Through the "Rhea Courses" section the employee can write about projects that relate to the course work, which have direct impact on the company.
  • Employment Liaison: The companies/institutions can seek job applicants with a certain expertise. We are particularly interested in job offers emphasizing the importance of certain academic subjects in the real world.
  • Industry Liaison: Allows industry to build a meaningful connection with students by posting educational messages on our website. If desired, the message can be targeted to a specific student population. For example, a company can explain the cool things they are making and how they relate to what is being taught in certain programs at Purdue. It could also encourage students to take certain classes or develop certain skills in order to be able to join them upon graduation. Note that we will be happy to advertise campus events sponsored by a company or participation in industrial round tables.
