Today we talked about phoneme, including the distinction between voiced and unvoiced phonemes. Our focus will be on voiced phoneme. We obtained a mathematical representation for the sound signal x(t) coming out of the vocal cords, after the phase of speech production we call "excitation". We looked at the Fourier transform of x(t).
