memoryless depends on the present, that is the output at any time depends only on the value of the input at that same time.

for example y(t) = x(t-1) is not memoryless because it depends on the past Since when y(1) =x(0), the output at that specific time does not have to depend on the value of the input. another example y(t) = 2x(t) is memoryless because it is in the present Since y(1) = 2x(1) this shows the output and the input are the same time.
