Should the Rhea team remove the "discussion page" from the Page menu?

I'm in favor of removing "discussion" pages as a separate concept. I like a simple interface with a few easy to figure out functions. Discussion pages, as far as I know, are simply wiki pages anyway. --Masonz 13:34, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

Ok, but then we would probably have to remove the "page" link under the page menu as well. I guess this might be a good thing anyway, since this is a slightly confusing link. --Mboutin 14:22, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
I'm in favor of removing "discussion" pages, since I have never seen them used in the Wiki. In Wikipedia, they allow discussion about "big" changes to a page to occur without modifying the page, but that functionality may not be useful in a class context. Part of the confusion may be that there should be both "Discussion" and "Edit Discussion" pages, but right now there is only one link, "Discussion," which acts as "Edit Discussion." --Yoder2 18:13, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

Ok, Zach has now removed the discussion page link from the "Page" tab. He also changed the "page" link into an "edit" link. This should clear up a lot of confusion. With this change, we are basically removing the discussion page feature from Rhea. (Ok, not completely since people who know about these pages can still create them if they wish, but the way to do this is not going to be obvious anymore.) For the future, I am thinking that we need to completely rethink the concept of page discussion... Any suggestions? --Mboutin 11:59, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
